For those of you that don't know this yet, Jack's been teething for over 2 months now with no success. Just lots and lots and lots of drool. There's nothing he can do about it and it shows up in every photo, so just deal with it! We're waiting. Patiently. Sort of patiently.

Jack's first trip to the Denver Zoo
Big day! First trip to the Denver Zoo. A favorite spot for Rob and I and we hope that Jack will love it too! Noni (Rob's mom, Suzanne) and Jack's Aunt Julie and Uncle Brett were along for the trip. Presbyterian-St. Luke's Children's Hospital sponsored a NICU reunion party that included lunch and photos and LOTS of kids and babies for Jack to admire. He was quite ignorant of the fact that there were huge animals right in front of him and was much more interested in the tiny people wandering around. Go figure. We can see kids at the grocery store. We don't need to pay zoo admission for this kind of fun...

Boy Meets Dog
So this is the first time that Jack really acknowledged the fact that we have a dog. A really big dog. I'm not sure if he can really comprehend ALL of her at the same time -- maybe he breaks her down into smaller parts like nose, ears, etc. Anyways, that's Rob laughing his ass off in the background and making no attempt to stop the onslaught while poor Noni rushes in with a washcloth to protect Jack from all of the doggie germs that Sophie is lavishing on him. I know they will be friends in 6 months time and she'll be a great pony for him to ride, but I feel better when they are in separate rooms for the time being...
Jack, meet carrots. Carrots, meet Jack.
Sweet potatoes, carrots, bananas, green beans and applesauce = YUM!
Peas = BLEECH! (Until the 3rd try when we tag-teamed them with applesauce and then it was totally good.
Jack tried to grab the spoon from us so we tried to give him a spoon of his own but he kept poking himself in the eye with it so we nixed that idea.
If there aren't two people ready with full spoons at all times he lunges forward at you like a rabid dog. We're learning how to make our own baby food so we don't have to spend $1 an ounce for food that mostly ends up on us or on the table or on the floor or on Jack. We'll keep you updated on this one -- might mean that I actually have to spend time in the kitchen.
